Focus on making it past the pens again, not the three peat yet. Prove to the hockey world that it wasn’t luck.

You’re right that they will be lucky to get a repeat let alone a three peat with Tampa,Toronto,Pittsburgh,Boston in the east and even if they make the finals they’d still have to deal with Winnipeg,Nashville,Vegas.... but no one with any hockey knowledge thinks last year was luck

Also the only reason they won the cup was because they faced the worst team in the finals. If they faced someone that was projected to be good that year, like the sens, they would have lost

I mean I think a lot of people with hockey knowledge think it was luck to be fair.

Anyone with any sense of "hockey knowledge" knows that it takes more than luck to win it all.

The Vegas Golden Knights who beat the Winnipeg Jets in 5 games were apparently the "worst team" last year according to this guy on Cap Friendly dot com

You are right, thats why with relatively little change Caps went from going out in the first two rounds every season to winning the cup. Not all luck, but Caps getting the cup last year... a good chunk of luck involved.

That's a comment you need to walk away from. Luck had NOTHING to do with them winning last season.

If you really believe that you are mad. Heck they only made it to the finals as the Pens Collapsed and played the worst playoff series they ever have played.

I was somewhat trolling on the team name, I like the current caps team chances to repeat but it does take luck and skill to win in the playoffs, every team needs both to win...caps certainly are not the favorite but they weren't last year either..so who knows...what about the moves though? Is the Niskanen trade fair? Does the Bura re-signing make sense? Hopefully Connolly lives up to the contract, would he get more as UFA?
