I also think Tampa would also rather part with a draft pick and/or a less proven asset to get rid of Callahan than to part ways with an asset like solid Miller. I think they want to keep their team intact for next season. They are so close with that they have right now, they need to win the cup within the next two to three seasons

they have to get rid of one of Miller/Palat/Johnson along with Callahan if they want to lock up Point, Vasilevskiy and Segachev those 3 alone could end up costing 20 million /year

For a contender, their priority is going to be trying to win the Stanley Cup, and that means of course re-signing Point, and possibly trying to get rid of Callahan.
The most feasaible guy for them to get rid of would be Gourde or Miller since their no-trade clauses don't kick in until after 7-1 I believe.

But, I do think it's very possible, but I also do think they will try to keep as much of that team together for a run at the Stanley Cup. If they somehow feel in two years they can't fit Serg, then I think they will try to trade him at that point. I think futures is more likely to get rid of Callahan, and not futures in the realm of Cal Foote.

wasnt joke stone went for 2nd round pick, b prospect and top D man prospect. you are tacking on if same situation 2x 1st and a 2nd but for a lesser player.

yeah but also stone was traded to a different conference, is older, and deal was done at trade dealine.

here BUF would be getting Kreider for a full season. more if he did re-sign

Girgensons has very little value

McCabe maybe valued around a 2nd/3rd round pick

Branstrom much much more valuable than a late 1st round pick (SJ)

if he did re sign long term id be more than happy to give up a 1st especially when we have 2 2nds in 2020 and could always try to move up

Kreider is a very good player and exactly what this team needs....

also most media members felt OTT couldve/shouldve gotten more for Stone but Dorion is one of the worst GMs in the league so its silly to use that trade as a serious reference
