Howard has been great with a terrible team in front of him. Kinda surprised he didn't get 2 or 3 years, but this is a good signing for the Wings. Once Zetterberg and Franzen go on LTIR next year they have tons of cap space.

More appropriate cap hit than what he is now. Considering the Wings don't really have any prospects that are contending for the crease this signing is fine

It's only one year, so this is perfect.

Don't sleep on Keith Petruzzelli! He's still at least two years away, but he could be the goalie of the future.

For one year, it's fine. Not like they had any better options.

Seems fine for a year. Howard probably got have got more money on two year deal but he did well for one year. The Wings who are still likely a non playoff time can trade him by TDL for a team in need, so I like for the Wings too.

its a great signing for Detroit who needs him so much. the ufa options out in the offseason are either going to cost to much like bob or varl or be worse than what we ave now like smith or Talbot. I cant imagine lehner gets away from the islanders.

They tried to trade him at the deadline, but had no takers. Maybe they'll try to trade him again this summer, but my guess is that his value is minimal to a contending team. He's really just a solid backup Goalie at this stage.

I can't see why Detroit would sign a 35 YO goalie when they are rebuilding. I guess Howard doesn't want to win and Detroit is still focused on winning now.
