I think the closest value would be Girard and a pick (definitely not a 1st) maybe a conditional 3rd that can turn into a 2nd depending how Drouin performs. That's pretty close to what he got traded from Tampa for

Agreed. Girard+2019 2nd should do the trick.

2nd might be a bit high, Girard has looked great in Colorado and even played a bit of top pair minutes there. They love him. And with a Drouin struggling again itd be a tough ask. I say the 3rd works, but conditions being based on how well Drouin performs. Maybe if he gets 70pts then it turns into a 2nd

Hard pass, Girard isnt going anywhere. Nevermind Girard and a pick for a very flawed but still offensively talented winger in Drouin .

Drouin is not some elite franchise player, hes a nice to have but you dont burn young core assets for

Girard has played more than a bit...he has played top pair all season long and for a 20 year old Dman, he has handle himself very well. People assume bc hes small he must be some offensive 1 dimensional puck moving Dman....exact opposite for the little guy. He is so smart defensively for being under sized, he can be very special to watch some nights when he is going

DId you really put Makar as one of the options? hahahhahaha never in a million years would Avs trade Makar, nor would they do it for a guy like Drouin

none of these trade are realistic bc Avs are not moving Girad, Makar, Kaut, or Jost and all to these are just montreal over valuing drouin hoping anotehr team will bail them out with Young assets. Sorry but these are all very wishful thinking.

Drouin is not going to get a much better prospect/young player package than Mark stone.

How about Drouin and Alzner for Zadorov and Cole.
Probably about similar amount of cap space once zadorov is signed.

Drouin is 24 yo, he's still very young. Girard is a top 4 D he's no Hedman Josi... He is Girard ...

He is a 20 year old Dman who is handling Top pairing minutes and is sound defensively, you dont give up on guys. I like Drouin but lets be honest and call a spade a spade, he is a good offensive player who is flawed with inconsistency and lacks 2 way ability. Hes a nice to have but not a core piece you need to win. His offensive ability which is good but not elite in this league does not out weight his flaws.

That is why montreal fans are with pitchforks wanting to trade him, not inheriting the same problem and giving up a huge core piece of the Avs future. Sorry but Drouin isnt getting you a teams core building block and that is what GIrard is to the Avs

They are 2 good puck movement defenseman with small size but are smart defensively

They have for me the same value, young and little dman who can handle top pairing, one more offensive than the other... so would you do drouin for mete 1vs1 if he was at another team?

Depends on the need, Mete is the ONLY one legit top4 LHD on the team. So no MTL aren’t trading Mete, but Avs have Zadorov and Cole, but if Im saking im still not doing it, because Makar & Timmins are both RHD

A big NO. This guy is just not worth that much. I would not even be ready to take Drouin for Tyson Barrie in a 1 on 1 trade. Because Barrie is top-9 among all NHL D for points since the 2013-14 season. He's worth more than Drouin alone. These offensive top D-men are not traded very often and they are expensive to acquire. COL will have the luxury of trading Barrie this summer because they have RD Makar and Timmins coming. And you don't give up on a 1st rounder or Jost or Girard or Kaut for Drouin. So... I think more about Drouin + a good prospect (Jesse Ylonen) VS. Barrie. Or another kind of proposal that does not involve Barrie like: Drouin VS. Alex Kerfoot and prospect D-men Nicolas Meloche.

I'd do the Kaut + 2nd. With our 2 1sts this year we'll get 2 prospects that'll be better than Kaut
