Clearly you don’t know who Ian Scott is as him plus johnsson is worth more than Kapanen Rosen and a 3rd and even that is overpayment, Kapanen and a 3rd is max I’d give and Johnsson+Scott is way too much

Reider wouldn’t be a good third liner but he could play there and yeah 1 mil is about right for him at this point (or less)

Zaitsev contract is bad but not anywhere near that bad

.932 in his 19/20 y.o season in the whl, projected as a backup? I think not, sure it’s just one season but everyone has to breakout at some point, you never know with goalies so he could end up being a backup but right now his ceiling is much higher

He was 19 for the majority of the season so lmk of another 19 y.o with a .932 in the whl in recent seasons

Obviously carter hart was even better and has a better track record but last year (also draft +2) is the closest thing to a comparable season recently with .947 vs. .932 so if Hart is projected as elite then Scott has to be projected as a starter, and the track record more points to the odds that they hit their ceiling so a starter ceiling is absolutely where Scott has to be

Also the oilers would need to have a qualifying offer at 2 million. As he has not scored a goal and the oilers need to shed salary i don't see them doing that.

What has Heed done to deserve more? Tim Heed hasn't been a full time player. He's on a team with good depth on defence, he can take a cheap deal here and play here and prove himself. If not him you can re-sign Marincin (I know people hate him) but we need cheap depth fringe guys to keep our core and get through the last year of the Marleau contract.

What about Borgman instead of Rosen and add a 7th in 2020?
