Neither Karlsson nor Panarin are signing for anything less then $11 million per. Karlsson at least wants Doughty money and Detroit alone will drive up Panarins asking price maybe even closer to McDavid money.

You can't be serious. Panarin close to Mcdavid money? No chance he gets within 1 mil of Mcdiddly. That would be ludicrous. 9.5 is a very reasonable number for Panarin.

I agree. Panarin is not McDavid, not will he get that money. It’s simply not worth it to spend that much on a player. Now I don’t really want Karlsson because he’s been injured for an alarming part of his career and this season. He’s far too high risk. Unless some team is stupid about money this offseason, I doubt either will get a penny over 10.

I would say 9.5-10.5 is where Panarin falls. Karlsson is going to be 11-11.5 IMO. He's better than Doughty and will want to be paid as such, regardless of his past injury issues. Just my opinion.

I agree that 9.5 is reasonable for Panarin. But him being UFA, we often saw teams overpay for those players. But very few playoffs teams have the cap space to sign a contract like that.

The difference between RFA and UFA deals. Teams can compete with each other to way overpay. Anyone signing Panarin to 11ish million will likely regret it in 2-3 years. Doesn't mean someone won't do it. Honestly I think someone will regret 9 million by year 4. But if I had to guess he'll get high 9s to low 10s.
