Why would Columbus ever agree to this inter-divisional deal that would see them take on that unpleasant JVR contract? Aside from the pure value, which is not even at all, no way Columbus would agree.

Unpleasant JVR contract? How much do you think an annual 30 goal scorer should make?

Where do you get annual 30 goal scorer from? He has hit that mark only twice and missed it by 1 one year. So there's that.

If you go back to the 2012/2013 season and take his goals per game since and multiple by 82, he is at 31 goals per year. A couple seasons with an injury and a lockout year screw the numbers if you just look at straight goals per year.

Ya but you can do that with any guy in the league and it still doesn't mean they will hit the 30 goal plateau.

no you can't...maybe take a look at the numbers yourself. In an 82 game season he would have hit 30 goals 4 times in 7 years with the other years being 29, 28 and 27 goals. That is a 30 goal scorer.

So you mean to tell me Evander Kane is a perrenial 30 goal scorer? Cause this is the exact same arguement with him. And he is not considered one.

Your math must be off because that isn't at all the exact same case. The difference with Kane and JVR is that JVR can actually finish a season whereas Kane has yet to do so in his entire career. Last year was the closest at 79.

I don’t like the contract either, but as for the 30 goal thing - well here’s his g/82 over 17:00 average ice time. (Top-six minutes - what he’s playing right now)

2018-19: 36.8
2017-18: 41.6
2016-17: 31.0
2015-16: 27.5
2014-15: 24.0
2013-14: 24.8
2012-13: 27.2
2011-12: 23.5
2010-11: 26.8
2009-10: 20.6

28.4 average goals a year, 32.2 over the last five and more than 30 for three straight years. He’s also scored an average of almost 55 points a year and over 58 since the lockout year. He’s not a $7M player, but 55-60 points and exceptional power play skills make him a solid 5-6 million dollar player. Philly overpayed to get him, but coming off what could’ve been a 40 goal year with a bigger role, he was going to get paid.

Screw all the JVR talk.. can't see Philly even entertain the idea of letting Hagg go. He's been a rock for them. Hard hitting tough defender.

Honestly no not a ton of them but I still think for a young guy he's been good for the team. He's not going to score a ton of points like Sanheim and Provorov eventually will but I still think he's a great player and maybe not perfect defensively but he is going to be a tough guy to play in the future imo.

$1.85 million :P JVR's contract AAV is bad for such a 1-dimensional player, but the term is worse.
