this is why people on this site dont like leafs fans. I bet if you offered Nylander for Boqvist hawks may still say no (though that's a MUCH better offer). you're not even close to fair value for Bqovist. He has top pairing potential and kappenen is a benefit of his situation like I keep reiterating. Hamonic was traded for a First round pick and Two second round picks, Calgary doesn't even entertain that offer. Zaitsev trade looks fine. Brown will get a 3rd round pick max, definitely not a 2nd round pick which will be top 45 overall

All these teams say no, the Hamonic trade is nowhere near the value of the Muzzin trade... I honestly can’t understand how you could think it is

While this ACGM team is awful as I said in my previous post, I still gotta chime in here to say, the reason you see so many Leafs fans like this guy is because they out number every other fan base by a wide margin (other than Montreal) percentage wise there are no more stupid leafs fans than there are stupid fans of other teams. Also kappy would probably not be as good with other line mates just as most wingers wouldn’t be as good with lesser line mates but to suggest he is completely reliant on his situation is just plain wrong

fair enough, I think kap on a team like Chicago would be more like 30-40 points rather than the 40-50 points he's gonna get this year. Obviously not even close to the value of Boqvist.

I will accept that perhaps the value is off for black hawks trade however the hamonic trade is way off? Seriously??

The kings trade for Muzzin was a late first, C prospect, and a unsigned prospect for a solid D man with Stanley cup under his resume.

I believe the Flames farm system is depleted but they currently have enough D on their roster to make this move.

Yes the Flames got Hamonic for what your saying but at the time he had 3 more years on his deal, not a pending UFA at the end of the year.

Connor brown would likely be top 6 forward on more than a few teams, this includes the Oilers. He has shown ability to be effective in that role before, no he will get not get that chance in the Leafs.

Half agree with you, the offer here is junk, and yes kappy has benefitted but plays well up and down our lineup. He has a very good well rounded game.

It would depend on where they play him, but yeah that sounds about right, and yeah Boqvist is awesome (he actually just scored a nice goal for LDN 10 min ago) and a young RHD with that potential is gonna cost more than Kappy. But it sure would be fun to see a line of Kapanen-Strome-Debrincat.... man they would fly
And now Boqvist has both of the knights goals, He is good on the PP playing like the 4th forward
Final update speak of the devil and he shall end up with 4 goals, the knights only goals not on an empty net

The problem is simple
Late 2nd << late 1st
Timashov << Grundstrom
Gordeev < Durzi
The amount/genre of pieces might be the same as the Muzzin trade but the value is like 1/4
And Grundstrom a C prospect really? Guy has already made it into the kings lineup, an NHL ready prospect with top 6 potential (likely ends up top 9 but the ceiling is there) is not a C level prospect

like I said, he'd be a 30-40 point guy on Chicago, obviously a good piece, but certainly won't swing you Boqvist

I've had an eye on Kapanen for a while. He has a game breaking skill (speed). He has pretty good hands and has good defensive IQ. I think he has a long career in him either way as a middle 6 winger. But you are right he needs to prove he is a 20/50 guy himself not just with superstar centre

I agree, I think he could definitely be a 20 (goal) / 50 (point) guy. I was just annoyed by that post. Still, a middle 6 forward doesn’t equal a top defensive prospect

I think middle 6 forward is his basement. I still think he has a decent shot 25-30/60-70. Aka a speedy instead of gritty Saad.

Believe it or not wingers don't score as much as centers and consistent 20/50 is a second line winger. I'm confident he can be a 15/35-40 guy which is 3rd line winger.

But yeah he is probably worth a mid first, but not a high first. Boqvist was an 8th overall and has pushed his value up in his first post draft year.

Note when I say decent I don't think it's the most likely outcome. Just it's a reasonable outcome. Most likely is probably a prime of 18-25 and 45-55

Hard to say what he would be on chicago next season, you’re not giving him any room to grow, are you implying that he has plateaued in his first full season?

As for the trade not even close. Boqvist will not be moved. Rebuilding teams don’t trade young rhd prospects with upsides like he has.

I think on leafs his prime will be anywhere from 40-60 points depending on the season. Like I said, that’s a valuable player to have, but obviously not worth a Boqvist. I think the Saad point totals are a fair comparison

On leafs he’ll be anywhere from 40-60 points depending on the season. 40 points for a bad season, 60 points for a good season. That’s the kind of range I see him at. Similar to saad like mentioned above but more speedy
