I think they could get more, but that is more than fair as well.

I also think that no team will want to do any favors for Toronto.

This post is funny. Big Willie holds out for 2 months. Dubas caves and gives him $7M A YEAR, but Big Willie's never been above 61 points AND 26 this year with only 6 goals in 49 games....all while being on 2nd best offense in the league... I can see he has talent when he plays, but at some point he needs to start earning that $7M contract. He hasn't even sniff'd justifying a $5M contract let alone $7M.

lol. An overrated 4-5 dman, a career AHL starter, and your #3 d prospect? That's an easy pass from Toronto. A serious offer would start with one of Jokiharju or Boqvist, a decent young roster player with middle 6 forward upside, and probably a 2nd that's a conditional 1st based on Nylander's performance/whether it's Jokiharju or Boqvist

I’m a firm believer that good players aren’t available when they are playing well, buying low is the best way.

Lol. What's even funnier is how you think a contract is only justifiable by playing 5 months of it and you only base that on points. Lol.

When your defense is exposed in the playoffs, and nylander disappears then come comment on this post about how you guys don’t need Murphy and how Nylnader is worth so much.

I could say the same for a Forward who gets all of his points from his linemates without getting primary points. Why do you think Parayko+ doesn't happen for Nylander. Why do you think Blues won't accept Nylander+ for Parayko. Because Parayko is literally useless in most teams lines. (in your idea you think Toronto doesn't accept, it's actually quite the opposite. Nylander is very useless on team lines. Nylander would be super useless on the blues, on chicago probably not as bad, but nonetheless you overvalue the hell out of Nylander)

I do agree with you. AND again I do see his talent, but Dubas CAN'T be happy with him at all. It's injury to insult the way he's playing. I truly do believe that Dubas would be willing to trade him. They have too many cap issues to deal with and it would send a message to trade the hold out.

Yup! When you a scorer that doesn't score it's like being a goalie that can't stop the puck from going in the net. KINDA A BIG DEAL!

Murphy is an overrated 4 or 5 dman? LMAO Typical Leafs fan, can't come to grips with the reality like another 1st round exit this year or the statistical fact Nylander is playing like garbage....Saad is better this season then Nylander at $1M cheaper. Nylander doesn't warrant a A+ prospect like Boqvist let alone adding a conditional 1st plus a roster pick??? LMAO YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND

Some of them are the worst homers on this website. If you gave them $10 and for $5 back they would say not fair, our $5 is worth $20.

More like asking someone to break a 20, they rip it up in your face, and give you a dollar in nickels back.

Try watching some games. Things aren't solely based on points/production. Yes Nylander tends to get lazy sometimes, a lot of players do. But the difference is that Nylander has the ability and frequently takes control of the game. There's been times where he's been the beat forward in the game, but some bad puck luck held him back from points. Matthews went through a time in his rookie year where he didn't score for 13 games. So by your logic, they shoulda traded him. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. He's 5 months into his new contract. Chillnon the trade talk just cause he's having a down season in terms of statistics.. he's young. Guys mature and develop and maybe he grows out of the lazy times. But to suggest to give up that much skill for something that's not even close, is probably the worst trade suggestion possible. Did the Hall for Larsson trade not teach you anything? You don't trade top end talent for positional need. You trade it for its value. What you've suggested is no where near market value for Nylander.

When somebody says "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard" is when the conversation ends as you know you're dealing with a child.
