That doesn't help Edmonton at all. You gave them a rental a 7th D-man, a depth forward maybe 3rd liner, and a couple late round picks. for a Center who is a bonafide number 1 center anywhere but Lightning, Pens, and a few others. That's not logical.

But I still don't see Edmonton doing this. Brodie's good but he's got a year left on his contract. The only other high value piece going to Edmonton in this deal is the 1st. Then there are a few more depth guys and a 3rd. Not gonna be enough for Draisaitl. He isn't getting moved.

all of the replys on this post are exactly why edmonton will never be good. you seem to think that draisaital playing on a line with the best player in the nhl somehow has equivalent value to mcdavid. you cant win with 2 players you need a team.

czarnik makes the third line better. if you dont like czarnik then take bennett

Brodie is a top 2 defenseman and would compliment nurse into a solid top pairing. brodie can be resigned just cause he has one year doesnt destroy his value

stone may be a 7th defense on calgary but he easily beats out both of the oilers current third pairings and may be better then russel on the second pairing in terms of defensive skill

the first and third is just icing on top

worst case scenario is you get like 10 million in cap space to start Edmontons 5th rebuild at the end of next season. draisaital has proven he cant run his own line and he is a 70-80 point player if he never gets a shift with mcdavid

Draisaitl was good before McDavid even joined the team. It doesn't really matter you aren't paying enough for Draisaitl any way you slice it it's just not enough... Point blank Stone might be better than the third liners, but you want a 1st Line guy for a late round 1st late round 3rd a 7th man d a Top Pairing defenseman I will give you that, but has 1-year left on the deal something tells me he leaves at the end of the year therefore most of the value you think he has isn't there not worth it one bit. So again I say you have not reached what you need to give up. If you want him a Top 6 F, Top 4 D, 1st Round Pick and you can probably get your man, but even then they probably want a sweetener. McDavid hasn't been doing well as of lately anyway so that nullifies any argument that he has the best player in the game on his line. Draisaitl has been the one scoring and doing most of the work offensively lately. So you can't say that this is even close to a fair deal because it isn't.

If i'm the Oilers, as much as i don't like Bennett i'll take him over Czarnik. (Czarnik's not bad, but i'd value Bennett higher).

Well, Calgary needs to let Edmonton talk extension with Brodie, but I don't think they can do that before the draft, and I can tell this is before the draft because it involves 2019 picks.

Doesn't even matter if EDM can extend Brodie or not because they're not moving Draisaitl anyway. Brodie (extended), Bennett, Stone, a 1st and a 3rd from Calgary isn't gonna get you Draisaitl.

It really was an unrealistic trade dude - I am a hardcore Flames fan and even I think it was out there!
