They are going to have to trade a roster player for future though. Colin Miller to a team that needs a right shot D is probably more logical.

Tuch is good, but a good young roster player, a solid defesnive prospect, and a 2nd would be a good return for him. Not sure you'll get a ton better.

No it is not. Those two players had standard 3 year elcs. Mcavoy has 2 years of service, meaning that a 5 year deal brings him directly to ufa without buying out any ufa years. That has never happened in the cap era. Ever. Not once
