Tampa will want to sign at least one maybe two veteran defensemen. Those defense men are going to want decent cap, but it’s worth it for the security, no NHL team would want to start what amounts to 3 rookies on D. Also you need a 4th line winger. I’m guessing that the Dmen and winger will push you over the cap, without additional moves to get rid of salary.

Yawn .. Tampa 2019 will have 1 new D .. Foote .. and 2 to 3 NEW forwards for Syracuse to replace Callahan and 1 other potential trade. It that friggen simple. May need to get a veteran D on 2020 trade deadline but Tampa is more than fine with cap .. bigger issue is 2020 and Sergachev.. personally I would trade him now in deal .. with Callahan .. for Risto at RD .. problem solved in one stroke for YEARS
