Description
For the record I’d be testing this for the last few games of the regular season and start from scratch if it falls apart
Line 1-obviously stays the same, love it
Line 2-keep Kapanen with his partner and he should take off again, been a bit slow offensively lately so why not utilize him where he will play best
Line 3- this line looked great a few weeks ago, get them back together and these should be three great lines instead of two
Line 4- I love Marleau and disagree with anyone who says he has earned 4th line, but in this lineup simply due to chemistry and what has worked I don’t wanna bump brown especially now that he has started scoring a bit, other than Marleau I like Goat as 4c and Ennis over Moore simply because of experience, Moore can get his next season
Defense 1- Zaitsev was a one year wonder right? And Gardiner has been stuck with horrible partners his whole career right? Or maybe Jake drags them down with him, Put Z back with Rielly cause that is what worked, why pay a guy 4.5 mill and stuck him in a new spot and when it doesn’t work make no effort to change it? I don’t get babs sometimes
D 2- Dermott is a good 2 way defenseman but he didn’t have a good game first one back, so I’d put him with a steady partner to hold the Fort while he does something exciting, also Dermott is 100% fine on his off side
D3- Rosen has some offensive flare and isn’t bad defensively but never the less I’d give him a steady partner too, Hainsey can hold the Fort and provide some veteran leadership for the in experienced Rosen, if Gards is back he can slot in here and Hainsey will have the same Job
Starter- Need I say anything here?
Backup- pray we don’t have to use him but if push comes to shove I’m taking Hutch over Sparks 100000 times over

Nylander needs to play with matthews. Kapanen has been good with kadri and Marleau and the matthews nylander johnsson line has been one of the best in the league since they got reunited

I really don’t like the Mathews Line, Mathews seems to have shown frustration when playing with johnsson sometimes. I would love to see a Ennis-Mathews-Nylander on the 2nd pair though

they tried that for a small time already.. Ennis didn't really fit well. Johnsson's play style fits Matthews and Nylander perfectly. It's just Johnsson needs to calm down because he's a hot head and overreacts a lot. Probably rubs off a bit on Matthews when he sees the frustration come out of Johnsson like that

I know it was tried before but At the beginning of the season, Enid has picked up his play a ton since then I’d Much Rather see Ennis/Moore on Mathews/Nylander Line. Some Hard working players similar to Hyman in style with scoring potential

That is exactly what Johnsson is. And he has more scoring potential than Moore, and Ennis combined. Johnsson just needs some frustration management. When guys rattle his cage he loses it too easily. And when he gets a penalty he goes over the top to get his point across. That comes with maturity but his play style is a good fit for Matthews/Nylander

I feel like Kappy hasn’t been great with Naz, that’s why I put him with Auston cause Nylander is good on either line

Johnsson could swap with Marleau, but kappy should stay with Matthews to get him going

Nylander makes matthews so much better. He is able to make space and set up matthews by making passes that kappy isnt able to. It's so much harder for defenders to cover 29+34 but kappy and matthews just isnt as big of a threat of 29+34

I disagree that Matthews is any better with 29, I think he is the same either way, the only difference is kappy is better when he is there and Nylander is just as good either way, in fact Kadri and Brown get a boost when they with 29, so swapping 29 and 24 would hurt 28,43 and 24 especially when you consider the competition, Mitch and J.T will try to go shot for shot with Bergeron and the next two lines should be able to dominate Boston’s 2nd and 3rd
