If I'm Florida, I want Liljegren back, that would be my starting point.

not enough. Not nearly enough. Florida has no motivation to move him, but let's say they would entertain the idea, and marner is off limits

Nylander
Liljigren
1st
Kapanen

maybe. I honestly don't know if they would even accept that. They have their number one d locked up forever in a market that is sometimes tough to retain players in. I think the league has massively soured on Nylander. I know it's a tough task starting a season late and missing camp, but a half point per game and a dash 4 on a juggernaut offensive team doesn't really move the dial, especially at 7 million.

Hey believe me I tried with @jonesryan with him saying Nylander deserves Barrie+. But hey you know what you can't change Toronto fan's minds.

I'd take Sandin. Pretty sure Sandin is more highly valued in the Leafs org, he's averaging over 20 minutes in the AHL as an 18 year old.

that's a very, very, very, very underwhelming starting point. Ekblad is worth about 13 liljigrens.

Ok, there is a middle ground, I don’t like this trade either but you are on something if u think that’s value, Nylander has 23 points in last 30 games at 22 y.o yeah he took longer to comeback then I woulda liked but what’s more realistic for a guy that had 61 points at 21, 19 games 3 points or 30 games 23 points, that’s the player he is and has been not the 1/2 point per game that it averages out to

Stop mentioning me in random comments kid. You don't even read into what I post that well. I never said it was straight Nylander for Barrie +. It was:
To Colorado:
William Nylander
2020 TOR 2nd round pick

To Toronto:
Tyson Barrie
AJ Greer
2020 COL 4th round pick

... break it down, it's like Nylander for Barrie (arguable who wins, say Barrie might be worth a bit more), then its AJ Greer and a 4th for a 2nd (the 2nd is more valuable). So if Toronto "wins" slightly for getting Barrie for Nylander, then Colorado "wins" for getting a 2nd for a bottom 6 prospect and a 4th.. it's not as bad as you think it is. But sorry, once again, you know all. Seriously. Stop mentioning me. You're not worth a second of anyone's time.

It goes without saying I'd be looking to add. I'm just saying that if I'm Florida, I refuse any deal that doesn't include Liljegren (or Sandin for that matter).

HAHAH what a joke. Ekblad has one of the best team friendly deals out there for his age, postion and term. He's nearly untouchable.

That's a massive overpayment by Toronto. Probably take out the 1st and Kapanen and make it Nylander, Liljegren, and a 2nd for Ekblad and it's a lot closer. They don't always have to pay more and massively overpay just because you don't like them. Stop trying to rob them every time.

you are right, that is closer to fair value....however, in the first line of my post I illustrated why I think toronto would have to overpay. Mainly, Florida has no reason to want to move him. What do you have to do to get a player when a team doesn't want to move the guy? ummmm, you've got to overpay.

Is florida in a better position to win with Nylander instead of Ekblad? no. Are they in a better contractual situation? no, it gets worse. Is the 25th pick enough to make that worth their while? No, it isn't. How about a prospect that may or may not be an NHLer on top of that? Meh. Not really doing it for them, they think they're in a position to make a run at a couple UFA players and be a playoff team next year.

So why would they make that deal, even though it is close to fair value? Answer: they wouldn't.

haha...I have two points to make on this

1. no, I don't think the above is fair value
2. Ekblad constantly gets trashed on this site as being a **** defenceman and overvalued....but the second there's a leaf thread looking to acquire him all the sudden he's being undervalued. There was literally a post on here this morning trashing Ekblad. I think some people enjoy the hobby of trolling leaf threads vs actually evaluating hockey trades reasonably

No I read you just don't know who AJ Greer is probably worth around a 2nd himself then you are asking them to add a 4th on top of it.

mhm. I am r*etarded. Yeah makes sense little mans. The guy who said he was a former "nhl prospect" calls me the r*etarded one. Only in Toronto folks only in toronto. @Hedman77 Remember Only in Toronto lol. Right here this just shows how defensive fans get when other NHL fans call them out on being wrong about the whole situation. Only men like these would ever get completely defensive and start insulting people when they are getting called out for Statistical Facts. If He was so good maybe he would get Barrie+, but he doesn't. That's not even close to enough for Nylander. You just what teams to do your a favor, and the other problem is when people like ryan here expect the world for almost nothing. Literally from the issue of saying that a player is worth this set much amount. You are trying to get more than what he is worth, and what people would offer, and that in itself shows how much of the r*etard I am. But the irony in this is hysterical. Never again will I get in an argument with a guy who has no clue what he is even talking about.

Liljegren hasnt been very good this year in the AHL, Hasnt really progressed or taken the next step. That might be a risky starting point

Lol. The kid ranting about someone insulting him turns around and throws more insults. Go back to being an assistant coach for a high school team. Wouldn't be shocked if it was community service hours for breaking the law with an attitude like you have. Later kid.
