Yeah... This would be awesome for CGY, not MTL.

This is not a good deal for MTL at all. I like Brodie but he is older and going to be far more expensive than Drouin

i sure wouldn't mind having ghost on our team that's for sure, seems reasonably even 1 for 1 trade

Drouin having career highs going to a team with tons of talent to play opposite Gaudreau and Monahan likely to hit a new career high there before he's 25

for a 32 year old struggling winger who's on a horrible deal .

TJ Brodie is good but any cap dump deal with Neal see's picks plural coming MTL's way and zero going CGY's

Drouin for Tj Brodie straight up .
you trades like this more and more with players like this .
both doing well but both scrutinized for being streaky mostly due to the sudden increased depth in their position due to new acquisition this year.

if Neal's involved

Drouin and Alzner @ 50% retained with intention for CGY to buy out @ 500k a season after cap retention for Neal , Brodie, 2nd ,3rd and 5th .

MTL gets 3 picks and gets to move out Alzner.
CGY gets a young elite winger to put with JG and SM while moving up Neals cap long term getting the winger they were hoping he's be giving up Brodie,2nd ,3rd,and 5th to do it.

CGY remains a better team without giving up a 1st or a top prospect under 25 .
just a player Hanafin replaced , a player they regret signing and some picks to develop

yeah i guess you're right, now that i see it, it would make sense and more fair to add Alzner and all those picks

Wouldn’t trade Drouin for anything other than a good young LD... like Sergachev...

I hate everything about this deal.

Keep Drouin, or trade him for a young top LHD, like Lindholm.

yeah but drouin alone isnt enough to trade straight up for someone like Lindholm, we have lots of young deffence that will be ready for the nhl in a few years so by going after someone with a little more experience would be a better short term fix rather than paying more for some young guy when we already have lots of young guys
