Taking a step back; you gave up Saad and got Kap back. I'm a fan of Kap but no way in hell would anyone think Kap is a better player then Saad. Saad has more points and goals and is a two way player that Kap isn't plus Kap spent more time on a better line then Saad.
The other thing is trading Gus right now would be an absolute mistake. It is highly unlikely, according to lots of recent sources and boqvist himself, that he is joining the Hawks next year...it's pretty clear cut he's going back to the Knights to work on his defensive game. Now that may or may not change but Gus is a proven NHL talent and one of the top 5 offensive D guys in the league. To dump him with the hopes that 1) Boqvist comes up (unlikely) and 2) he will be able to jump right in at a young age and fill what Gus brings is just not wise.
While I like Pesce, the last thing the Hawks need is another RHD guy. We need a LHD guy.
Kurashev may or may not make the team but he is pegged as a winger and a bottom 6 winger at that. No way is he going to play 2C.
You'd be way better off in what you're trying to do with the front lines by trading Saad and in exchange making room for Panarin ($9.5M) and Dzingel ($4.75M). Your front lines should like this...
Panarin - Toews - Kane
Cat - Strome - Dzingel
Kabulik (or Sikura) - AA - Kahun
Caggs - Kampf - Perlini (or Entwistle)
That's a way better front 4 and much more realistic.
One more thing; Delia is pretty much the lock as the backup next year.
And for those that don't think Saad is worth a 1st rounder, they are out of their minds!
