Why would any team want to give up multiple star players for 1 star player? I dont care how good McDavid is, hockey is a team sport and isnt worth all that.

yeah but if it were the NBA maybe but its not worth it in the NHL. One player cant do it all. Personally, i wouldnt do Rantanen, Makar, Hughes and a top 20 pick for McDavid

He will never get trade then... If he were to get trade (asking for a trade), even though he is «that great», there is 0 chance a team is going to give half their assets for only one guy... And it isn't like he can make you win a Stanley cup on his own... Look at EDM. COL would have to give Makar, OTT first (Kakko, Hughes) and another thing like a second or a great prospect.

100 Points later. You have to give to get. McDavid is the greatest player since Gretzky hands down. No one cares if you don't want to give up multiple star players for one. All that matters to Edmonton is they get equal value to him, and apparently no one will do that.

obviously nobody is gonna blow up their team to get mcdavid. whatever team trades for him would just end up being like edmonton is now: a few good players trying to carry the team by themselves. building teams like that doesnt work in the NHL
