Created by: palhal
Team: 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 3, 2019
Published: Apr. 3, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa needs cap relief. Tampa wants a young RHD. Carolina can benefit by getting immediate NHL help instead of picks.
Still gotta work on the roster...does Callahan or Gourde get traded in order to cap compliant,,,so more cap space can be created.

I like your thoughts/posts on here. This is an interesting trade and can help both teams. Adam Fox would need to sign first. I'm not so sure he will. I can tell you that I wouldn't if I were him. He's a 3 year ELC now or a UFA and sign a 2 year deal next year and get possible bonuses. I'm not saying he'll hit those bonuses, but the combination of choosing your destination (which affect playing time, possible NHL vs AHL ice time, and set up for the next contract) and potential for more money would lead me to stay and get my degree from some no name school...Harvard smile

Johnson and others have NTCs. Others have M NTCs. Miller and Gourde might be the most practical trades.

My thinking was if Fox was join any NHL team next season, wouldn't Tampa be a great place to be. I kinda think there is a spot for him on the NHL lineup in Tampa, sorta replacing Stralman. Gee, it must be tough being Adam Fox....Harvard or NHL. In a year (if I want), I can sign with any of 31 teams. My only choice after graduating was choice of afternoon or night shift.
