Mcdavid Trade

Created by: Hackadart
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 4, 2019
Published: Apr. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Did it this year cause idc how the contracts would work under the cap as this is just a random idea and not really gonna happen
This trade from the leafs perspective is bearable to move all of these pieces since they accumulated so many high end pieces, so to lose a bunch of them for the best player in the world Is do-able
For Edmonton idk what else they could ask for (other than obviously their first choice would be Mitch over Willy but that can’t happen without serious changes to the rest of the trade) but they get
1st line winger
2nd line winger
A level Fwrd prospect
A level Defensive prospect
Two late firsts
A late second
That’s 6 high quality pieces and a second as a bonus, It would be hard to fathom the oilers giving up Mcdavid for anything shy of The moon but if he demanded a trade I think this is a good return

Idk if Kadri has more value than Kappy since kappy is younger and faster, but yeah you can put in whichever one, and what kind of Prospect, A,B,C?

Imagine there are about at least 10 players on each team that want to be traded. We don't see 300 trades a year. "Demands" mean nothing. A McDavid trade would command at least premier player in return, not this group.
I don't blame McDavid, taking the max contract when offered it to him, for the money and the long term money. Makes you have more respect for Trouba who didn't want to stay in Winnipeg. He stuck with short term deals so he can reach UFA as soon as possible.

If Mcdavid says he’s not showing up to camp he will be traded pretty quickly, not that I think it will happen anytime soon but if the Oilers can’t turn it around for say another 3 years I could see it

McDavid is never going to be traded during his current contract.

If you want to make trades for fun, I would think Matthews or Marner would be the key piece and then you still add a lot.

Agreed that he won’t be traded but theoretically if the leafs did trade for him it wouldn’t make sense for them to move Mitch or Auston as even though it’s an upgrade (obviously) it isn’t big enough to justify the rest, upgrading from Nylander though is big enough to give up a likely Top4 d-man, Top 6 forward, another Likely top 6 forward and a bunch of picks

I'm a Leafs fan and I would do your trade in a heart beat. I'm saying the Oilers don't do that trade without Matthews or Marner included

Matthews for nylander. And a chance but still highly doubt he would say he wants to leave

It’s gotta make sense for both teams, and that most certainly doesn’t, I made a different ACGM with a Matthews for Mcdavid trade but the rest of the package is changed because that’s the only way it would make any sort of sense for the Leafs, and yeah I highly doubt he will want out anytime soon but if we are talking 3-4 years from now and the oilers haven’t turned it around it’s possible
