Anywho, my main point, why are you aiming for 8th in the west? Does no one else realize how terrible team building this is? Aiming for 8th, may be all that is possible because of the build of the team right now, so that needs to be ACCEPTED. Nuke it for 2 years and you're in great shape and McDavid is still only 24. Convince him to wait, because otherwise you'll never get out of the hole your in, and get yourself stuck with more bad contracts like the one to Connelly above will likely end up being (almost 5 mil per year for 5 years for a guy who's career high in points is this year and under 50 pts)
