not Quennville. Sheldon Keefe is the better option.

But Babcock might to be to fully blame on this one. Yes I agree that a change may be needed and he is the head coach, but assistant coach DJ Smith is responsible for the team's defence which has been the main problem. His contract is up this summer, and reports are that the Leafs are close to a contract extension with Keefe. So I'd say give it one season with Babcock as the head coach, Keefe as the new assistant coach that runs the defence. Then if it doesn't work out next year, Keefe is the easy replacement for Babcock.

Keefe has already worked with most of the Leafs young players and has seen their prospects first hand with the Marlies. He'd need some time to get used to the veterans on the roster so the 1 year can be used to learn how they are. Then Babcock out and Keefe in

Half you coaching solution is right....Fire Babcock, but think there might be better option than Quennville.

The reason I said no to Quennville, I just wonder if the Leafs need a younger maybe not an old guard coach. Isn't working with Babcock IMO. Don't if rookie NHL coach like Sheldon Keefe would be the best solution.....he had done very well with Marlies. Quennville might be the best coach, and maybe for some team, not sure if he's the best for the Leafs.

Like the Zaitsev for Zaitsev trade. Thay way we don't lose Zaitsev..

I also think that if the leafs take a pounding against Boston this year then Babs should need to answer some tough questions. It should start with the replacement of the assistant coaches and then shortening the leash on Babcock. If that doesn't yeild positive results then I could see Keefe as next in line.

You know who I wished the Leaf had signed as coach a few years was Mike Kitchen. He did wonders as Dman coach for the Hawks for years. Wished he had been hired if only to Dman coach for the Leafs.
