I wouldn't be happy about it, but I could honestly see Fenton making that trade. He has a stupid crush on Bitetto for some reason and forced Boudreau to give him playing time over Seeler despite Seeler being the much better player.

Could you see somebody like Shore fitting in on the Wild with a third line role? Perhaps with Kunin/Eriksson Ek and Aberg.

I can't, since we already have too many LW's and C's. Plus, we just signed Nico Sturm who projects to fill the role that adding Shore would provide.

Rowney might have been the only Duck to exceed expectations this year and he makes peanuts. There's really no reason to move him, He's a perfect fourth-line center. Ritchie drives me crazy but his production is legit for how little he makes. He's still really disappointing as a player taken tenth overall but if you ignore that he's a steal right now. I would only package him to try to get a top-pairing d-man from somebody. And way does everyone want to trade Devon Shore? He's also a cheap, productive-ish player whose good on the PK.

What this team needs to do is figure out how to delete Perry from the roster and use our abundance of quality young forwards to try to acquire a d-man. Signing veteran free agents has never been part of the process with this team and it's not about to start during a rebuild.

I feel the same as you on your assessments of Shore and Rowney. I loved what Rowney did. i was very upset seeing the contract he got for so little games played prior to him coming here. He fit in well and I will put my foot in my mouth with those complaints.

I think Ritchie is serviceable... but cant do anything right. Takes really bad penalties and lets his emotions get the best of him all the time. i think he gets traded to get Comtois or a UFA in here.

Why is everyone all over Perry all the time. Guy came off knee surgery that he probably should have had 3-4 years ago and that has hampered his play big time. he had flashes of the past in a few games he played, and that is something to look forward too. If he gets in the 50-60 point range, I will take it. I know it wont be for $$$ value.... but hey, we could have James Neal and his solid pay for what he makes.

Perry is one of my all-time favorite players but the game has passed him by. I was hoping knee surgery might have given him a little bit of a step in his stride but it didn't. He simply makes way too much money for how little he produces. He had a 15-goal pace and is only getting older. If he only had one year left I feel like we could stomach that kind of production one last time but keeping him will take away a spot for a young forward that deserves more ice-time. Same goes for Getzlaf too though he still produces a decent amount. But those two are the problem, plain and simple (Kes too but since it's looking like he could be done he's no longer an issue). Unfortunately, there's really not a lot of options for moving on from them other than just waiting out these last two years.

I cannot see any reasonable way to move Perry without retaining 50% of the contract or taking back another awful contract (lucic, eriksson, bobby ryan)

Even then I don't think that will work. Is there a team that would want a slow Perry and at best 15 goals for 4 million dollars? And he'd have to agree to it as well considering his full NMC.

Yeah I fear we're stuck with him. They just need to try to figure out a way to move on from him.

he might have been on a 15 goal pace, but lets face it, the first 7 games should be discounted. Those were like his training camp and pre-season. So he would have been on the 20 goal 40-50 point mark. Regardless of dollar value, there are other things that he does that makes him valuable to the team. $8.6 mil worth, no, but he has a place here.
