Idk man, if they are only taking on 5 mil, there are players playing under worse contracts, just saying. (Bobby Ryan, Andrew Ladd, Corey Perry, and David Backes just to name a few.)

That is true but all those players you mentioned were signed by the teams that they still play for today. Not one of those players were traded with those bad contracts.
Seabrook was a great player for the Hawks but 5 million for the next five years is a big pill that Bowman will have to pay dearly for a team to take on for the Hawks. That is why all the players yoy talk about and others like Lucic, Abdelkader, and Spezza have not been traded, because the cost to rid the cap hit would be to large or teams do not want to take on the cap.
