Pettersson and the vancouver first is the only thing that would maybe get it done.

NYJ won't move that pick

that said, IMO it would take

a) Petersson or Boeser or Horvat
b) 2019 1st rd pick (#10)
c) either another pick or a good prospect

bottom line is, i think it's more that VAN wants to pay like sure you get No.1... but at what cost? if we give up all that it's another 2-4 years of rebuilding

Lol good point!

But for Pettersson for 1OA ++++

Pettersson is way too nasty and you exactly what you're getting!

no. Devils turn down pettersson and a first for the first overall. I think it would probably take Pettersson and two years of firsts.

HOLY **** IM DYING OF LAUGHTER

You want a PROVEN ELITE POTENTIAL Franchise Center+ 10th OA PICK + ANOTHER POTENTIAL LOTTERY PICK NEXT YEAR for an unproven Jack Hughes who will be lucky to be as good as Pettersson. Please give me what you’re smoking.

Sigh. Okay.
1. Settle down with the all caps, it makes you look like a moron.
2. Do you know what potential means? How about proven? Don’t talk about someone having proven potential again, not a good look.
3. Have you ever seen a first overall pick trader? It’s goinng to take something ridiculous to get one.
4. All indications are that jack Hughes will be better than pettersson

1) I had to your post was ridiculous.
2)Pettersson is a proven franchise center already. Hughes hopes to be that.
3) Doesn't mean the cost would be a higher valued/better player and two firsts
4) ZERO indications show that. I doubt you find one sane human that thinks you'd have to add to Pettersson to get Hughes.

Cheers same to you. Btw, you can have proven potential. He's proven to be a franchise center and has potential to be a lot more with better wingers and not getting hurt.

Those two words are mutually exclusive. It’s an oxymoron

How young are you guys? The Sedins were selected after several trades involving a 1st OA.

NJ needs "one of each" for their 1st overall (USA's Hughes) !

"One of each" = equals building from the net out ---> So for Van it's...Demko (G) / Q.Hughes (D) / Horvat (C)...

It's a 100% take-it or leave-it, non-negotiable offer cause I really don't care - I get JH if you fold...BOOYAH!

I don't even know why Hughes gets drafted over Kakko. The Finn is the clear #1 imo . He's ripping it up at the WC. Hughes has what no points in 4 games ? I'm not saying Hughes won't turn out to be the better of the two long term. But over the next 3 years , maybe more, Kaako is the better player.

Not really, you can be proven to be good at something and have the potential to be great at it. In this case, Elias Pettersson can be considered a proven 1C, with the potential to be an elite franchise defining C. Both are different things, and both are true, although they did poorly word what they said. As for the value in a trade, it would be close to fair value 1 for 1 although, because of the difference in contracts, 1OA cheaper for at least 1 extra season, and the optics behind dealing the 1st overall pick, fair value is nowhere close to enough to get the pick. It would require a desperate team overpaying, so you are right on what it would take.

Again it depends on if you take it in the most literal sense or understand that someone has just misspoke, or in this case mis typed. Someone can be a proven talent at something, and still be able to improve, therefore still having potential. The fact that they made the poor choice in phrasing doesn't change the fact that most people would understand the meaning. It really just comes down to how much bad grammar bothers you, and if you feel the need to correct it. You felt obligated to correct the grammar, and I felt obligated to point out that the spirit of what was being said is both obvious and correct.

You’re backing the use of “proven potential.” Think about that
