That's a tough one because Drouin is yet to ever hit the level you'd hope a 3rd overall would hit and you're proposing the Avs trade a 4th in a deep draft for him. I say Mtl adds their 1st and the Avs add a 2nd and a mid rounder. That'd be closer to fair value.

Just the 16th pick, eh? That seems like a pretty alright deal for Colorado. But I feel like Colorado would have to throw in Ottawa's 3rd just so it's not all on that 16th pick to be the person to have to fill Drouin's shoes.

That is the kind of trade you can't pull the trigger on (from the Montreal point of view) until you see who is still there. If someone you really like is still out there you do it.
