The Retool The Rangers Need

Created by: PotvinSucks
Team: 2016-17 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 4, 2016
Published: Jun. 4, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Start off by resigning all RFAs.... Then trading for Barrie. Obviously the deal isn't that realistic but Colorado is pretty damn stupid so who knows. Then trade Staal and his terrible cap hit to Dallas. Staal with a reasonable amount of retained cap can be valuable. Roussel doesn't seem to much to give up for Dallas but I'm not too sure. Also sign Diaz/Nash/Stalberg. Sign Nash to play on 4th line and kill penalties. Stalberg is a very capable/cheap bottom six player aswell. Lindberg will also slot in somewhere on 4th line when he is healthy. But Hrivik/Jensen both deserve chances while he is injured. Diaz also is a very capable 6 or 7th D Man. One last move is resigning Keith Yandle to a 4 year deal. Not too long so if he does decline it isn't like Staal/Girardi. Yandle is the best puck mover and offensive d man we have had since Leetch. So I hope they sign him back. IMO this team has stanley cup potential.

Nash has no value. He's not getting the Rangers anything decent

Many Rangers fan seem to have developed "Trumpism". Rangers can do what ever they want, cause other teams don't matter.

I disagree with you guys. Nash can get a very huge return. He is one of the best two way players in the league. Only 1 season removed from 40+ Goals. Injuries hurt him this year. If Rangers eat some of his salary he is a steal to many teams. If you actually look at his point production and defensive statistics he is tops in both. He is also one of the best penalty killing forwards in the league. The criticism of him is by people who don't seeing him scoring 3 goals every night and saying this guy sucks.

NASH DOES SUCK! If he had any value he wouldn't be in litterally every NYR trade thread every day. Based on what you NYR say of him he's got far more value to you than anyone else, so you can keep him.

Just because he is in trades on a website doesn't mean he sucks. The main reason he is in so many trade threads is because the Rangers need cap space to sign RFAs and he would be a player that could get them back some of the picks/prospects they have traded away the past couple of years while clearing needed space.

He does have value, but it is really low right now. Certainly not enough to get Barrie's rights AND dump Staal's contract. I doubt he could do a single one of those things in a trade right now.

I don't see why Rangers fans want to trade him while he's at his lowest value in years. We need to wait for him to put up 25 goals by early February and then deal him as one of the hottest trade deadline targets of the year. But if he doesn't produce like that, then we're in real trouble because his contract will be a dud.
