An offer they cant refuse

Description
That's the last time I'm doing it... This must be a fair value for the 2nd overall. The 5th and the 8th overall are going to be really great players that's for sure. Podkolzin and Kravtsov would be amazing for NY and KK-Kakko amazing for MTL. Plus, NY gets another high-end prospect.

Montreal is honestly better off just using Edmonton's pick and their own to select two good players to fill their needs (8th-Byram, 15th-York).

In what universe is Byram going to be available at 8th? If Montreal wants him, they'll be using Edmonton's pick to trade up (probably with LAK, add the CBJ 2nd) and praying to every known god that the Avalanche don't take him at 4th.

Also, Edmonton would prefer to not retain, but $1M isn't the worst case scenario.

Russ Farwell will see this trade and go "After 25 years finally everybody will stop talking about what I gave up for Lindros."

Sorry, but NYR have been desperate for a game breaker for decades, Kakko trumps this offer. He's even a better fit for NYR than Hughes, that's how valuable he is to us.

Podkolzin would be a better fit and from what I've read on this site, NYR fans seems to think that Kravtsov is going to be this game breaker guy next year. I just though that having a guy like Podkolzin who was really great with Kravtsov + An high end prospect was interesting for your team. You gotta admit, value is there though...

Don't be too sure. Just as likely as Byram going to Colorado or Los Angeles is the first round going Hughes-Kakko-Podkolzin-Cozens-Turcotte

Unlikely Rob Blake would trade a #15 and a maturing but still not in the NHL #11 for the #5 overall pick.

LA need multiple talented players... To get the Suzuki bros or Suzuki and one of Newhook, Lavoie, York, etc. would help them way more than a single player
