Awesome effort by the boys in blue and orange. Islanders and Penguins are incredibly evenly matched, but the Islanders were able to come in the clutch tonight and Eberle is playing out of his mind. Tom Kuhnhackl has also been a great addition to the top-6. Dude's a ball of energy and he seems to be excited playing against his former team. Only a matter of time before he scores one that counts. The 4th line is also awesome, those three are so good at shutting top lines down.
Defensively, Toews has been great (as usual). The kid does everything right and was inches from scoring tonight. Boychuk also stood out, who's playing really well in a shutdown role.
Lehner made some big saves (as usual), but he seemed a lot less busy tonight, considering how well the defense was playing.
Uphill battle going forward, but I love what I've seen out of this group thus far
Imo when it comes to pure talent, the pens overmatch the islanders by a substantial amount. Its just looks the the Islanders want to win more and have a lot more energy and passion in their play

Pens have a superior offense, but (no offense) the defense is a big meh. I know how you guys feel about Johnson, but I don't love Gudbranson either. Dumolin and Letang are great, but I think the Isles one-up them overall.

It's been a pretty good series so far and I'm not just saying that because we're up 2-0. If I'm being totally honest, I think the series will be tied going back to New York
I always liked Kuhnhackl when he was on the penguins. He was a shot blocker PK killer did the dirty work but never got the credit of the stars. He was a goal scorer before he came to the penguins so he does have that in his game.
That being said. F the refs for not letting them play. 6 power plays. GIve me a break. Especially in a tight game. That last one that led to the 3rd goal was a joke.

Yup totally agree 100%. Spot on. Gudbranson has actually been really good since coming to pittsburgh.
