big no from Nash

Wishful thinking on Josi, I know. But would be nice. My thought behind that is Nashville already has a lot of money tied up on D and have some prospects knocking on the door.
He's in the final year of his contract and will be looking for a big raise. I tried to match the Erik Karlsson trade a bit. Nashville only has 6 forwards and 4 defensemen signed for the 20-21 season with only 20 million in cap space. Maybe they look to move him or maybe he'll want out of Nashville. Would love him on this roster.

What do you think gets the trade done?

No problem. Take the protection off. Read my reply to shmoeman.

If only I offered Edmonton Ryan Spooner or Adam Larsson. Edmonton gets an offensive defenseman that helps with the team now. On a good contract to boot. O'Brien is a first round pick that played for USA at the world juniors. The trade isn't bad.

Hes their C, its much more likely for them to trade any other of their other 3 in their top 4

Not be Josi.

He's too important to Nashville. Difference with him and Karlsson is that everyone knew Karlsson wasn't re-signing in Ottawa because of Melnyk. Nashville can move other pieces and keep Josi. Logical deal is to move Subban since the Preds have Fabbro coming up who plays the right side, not move a lefty and weaken that side

Oilers already have a player similar to Ghost in Nurse: a guy who is a mediocre defensively but puts up numbers. Trading a guy who had a career year offensively and is their best 2 way player by a mile just doesn’t make any sense.

Trading Hall and Eberle didn't make any sense but it happened. And for way less of a return. Ghost is on a cap friendly contract which is a big part of that trade.
