Totally agree. Seems fair, just depends if the staff wants the best player possible at #5 or drop down a few to still get a good pick and suzuki

Don’t think mtl should do it. No telling what kind of player Suzuki will end up being but the more high end prospects mtl has the better. Wish this style of trade would have happened with scherbek or Tinordi though

Fairish, but Montreal shouldn't do it. Two 1st round prospects for maybe a slightly better 1st round prospect. 10 spots in the 2nd round isn't a decisive factor.

What if MTL keep their own 2nd?

If say it’s a gamble then. In 5 years you might look like a genius but you might look like an idiot. They’re moving in the right direction though so I wouldn’t risk it.

That might make it worth it for Montreal.
5 + 37 isn't much different from 13 + 15, then the decision comes down to the respective scouting staffs' belief in the players at those positions rather than odds or pick values.

It's not far off but I think it favors Montreal. I'm not taking a side I'm just giving a different that hasn't been brought up yet. Hughes and Kakko are clearly better than the rest and then Podkolzin, Cozens, Dach, Bryam, and Turcotte (in no order) but outside of that the talent drops again not a lot but its still a drop. You can make an argument either way for Krebs, Boldy and Zegras. But it's just my opinion and a different way to look at it.

The difference between 5 and 15 is 99% to 75% success. It's huge. If the Habs are hot for Bowen Byram or Dylan Cozens, they should make the deal. L.A. needs to build a new base of young players, so getting two "good" players for one "very good" one might be a good move. That said, it's looking doubtful that Vilardi will outgrow his back problems, so the Kings might well need a Cozens or Dach soon.
