Why do the Jackets want two cap dumps? Wennberg is a player they will probably look to ship out as a 'change of scenery' type move but they're not doing it for bad contracts / bad players.

I’m assuming the intention was the fact that Brodziak and Manning are expired after next season, vs the 4 years Wennberg has. I haven’t watched him play at all though. Is he actually bad, or just massively overpaid for what he brings?

Wennberg has scored 10 goals in 10 years and has a terrible contract. I dont think you can expect much more than a 3rd. The other 2 go the other direction for cap reasons hence the 2nd?

Wennberg is overpaid but he's a playmaker. He might have only 10 goals in the past 2 seasons (141 games played) but he also has 50 assists. In the deal you basically get a guy whose career point average is 41 points per 82 games for $2.9m. That is a bargain. Yeah he's had a down year and is probably a 3rd liner, he might well also get moved, but probably not for dead weights a team is looking to dump until they expire.
