Description
I’ve never seen Pittsburgh play worse hockey then this series. Game one they played well, but made stupid mistakes. Game 2 was okay, and today was disgusting. I want big changes this offseason. This is embarrassing. Pens are MILES better than the isles, but are playing absolutely brutal. They need a retool. Something has got to go.

For me anyone but 87, 59, 58, and 8 are on the block. Team is too slow and no one has the balls to get in front of the net and take some shots. Hornqvist won't anymore even. That's either a broken system or pansy players.

I’d say #71 is untouchable too, and #30. I agree though. Pens need to make a massive retool this offseason.

    it's the coaching.

It doesn't matter who you bring in. It's the coaching.

You have to lay the forecheck. They aren't. That's all there is to it. They passed up more hits in this game than I can count. It's unacceptable play. His "brand" of hockey isn't going to cut it. You aren't going to stick check your way to the cup when every team out there is just as fast as you are now. You have to lay the body.

I agree. He’s lost the room it looks like. Kinda reminds me of Byslma. He could be fired

I don't want to judge too much Pittsburgh since they won two cups in the last 3, but in the last four years, you traded four first round picks for : Ryan Reaves, Derick Brassard, Phil Kessel and Davis Perron. How could you not think there would be a backlash from all this ? You guys need to stop be buyers at the deadline and pile up some first round picks for ***sake ! Still, I send you love and respect since my team is eliminated.

The only “dumb” trade was the Reaves one. That was a complete blunder. Kessel Trade worked beautifully. And while the perron trade didn’t work out, we turned him into hagalin and he was a vital part of our 2016 cup run. No way I would take back that trade after that cup. Brassard Trade was the right idea. I personally thought he’d be a much better fit, but GMJR had the right idea and “went” for it. At least he salvaged brassard and turned him into two good pieces so not all is lost.

    Wanna hear a crazy stat?
Since Crosby draft in 2005, Pittsburgh Penguins have ONE first round pick currently on their roaster. Olli maatta 2012 draft..

He’s not the same Hjalmarsson as he was in Chicago. And even then, hawks only got Murphy for him. He’s still solid but I don’t see any team spending a first for him

He still defends his own zone well despite an injury plagued 2018 season

    2. Murphy has been amazing

    3. You arent getting him for what would amount to be a late 2nd either thats just comical a prospect would be thrown in. AZ isnt just going to give him away just because Pit said please

1- yeah he’s solid but like I said, teams aren’t paying a first for him
2- Murphy is a better Zaitsev. 48.2% CF this season. Last season he was solid at 53.5% , but he played more sheltered minutes. Averaged 16:22 mins compared to 19:29 this season. He’s okay, but to say he’s “amazing” lmao that’s funny
3- okay a late 2nd and a C+/B- prospect lmao. That’s good value for him. Nick Jenson this year only brought in a 2nd and Bowey and id rather have Jensen this point in their careers. Especially at 2.5 million X 4 year extension.

I don't think they have that kind of speed to be effective on the forecheck. The Pens best guy was Hags. There's just no speed. And it seems to structured.....like everyone has their assigned areas to skate in and the can't leave that zone. No creativity I guess.

pens were at their best when they played the speed, offensive, creative, up tempo game. Daley, hagalin, sheary, etc were all "speed" players that are no longer on our team
