Strange demand , would be too much i think then . We are already in need at Lhd . I don't see the fit also ..

As a Buffalo fan this doesn't interest me. I want to improve quickly but Drouin needs a solid cast of characters to perform well and we don't have the depth to provide him that. I'd rather go elsewhere with the pick.

Theoretically with Skinner (resigned) and Reinhart we don't need to compliment Eichel. We need to build a second line that will score and Mittelstadt isn't ready and that's it for our offense.

I'm all for trading Drouin, but not for a pick or to select a LHD. Either is a step backwards.
Selecting a forward gives an opportunity to select someone of similar ability and hope we can develop them better, but it's a move that helps a couple years down the road, and there's no guarantee of ending up with a better player. Like him or not, Drouin "now" is still a better fit than a younger and less experienced forward.

I'm not sold on Gostisbehere or Klefbom, but the idea makes sense. Someone in that range that is good enough now to partner with Weber/Petry and still young enough to re-sign when they can partner with our upcoming RD prospects.

Rather keep 7oa. A look at several recent 7oas shows skinner, schiefle, provorov, q hughes,nurse... if we were one player away this might be interesting, but we are better off rolling the dice on a higher ceiling and an elc.

Edit- also keller, dumba, and Lias anderson. I'm keeping the pick

Don’t think you’re getting a pick that high for drouin. His value dropped. You could probably get San Jose’s pick and another piece but your certainly not getting a pick higher than what Sergachev was

As the worst drafting team in pro sports history we'll still screw it up. But yeah I wanna keep 7 unless we're talking a trade up with Chicago.

My understanding is its 1, then 2, the 3-11. If 3-11 are all roughly the same, no reason to pay a premium to move up to 3. And like you said, we are terrible at drafting, although i think you could make a pretty good case we are even worse at developing.

The only reason I would trade up to 3 is if we were going to go after Byram because he won't fall to 7. I think the forwards between 3 and 20 might even be closer than people think so if we have a pick in the late teens going after Byram at 3 might make sense.

Still a hard no from Buffalo. I'll give you Hunwick and a future second rounder. We don't need him so why pay high?
