Although it was far from classy you can clearly see Ovi ask him if he wanted to drop the gloves. Svechnikov should of known his place and skated away just as much as Ovi shouldn't of dropped the gloves.

I suspect some Russian smack talk was coming from the kid, and looking at replay, Ovi asked him, and you clearly see Svechnikov nodding yes.
