Makes sense to me. MTL is going to be super strong down the middle for a while now that Poehling and Kotkaniemi are looking NHL ready. I've heard a lot of MTL fans say Danault for Leddy is an unfair trade, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see this as a straight up trade. I think NYI would be willing to add a middling pick to that trade; they need some more depth at Center and as happy as I am with Filpulla's season this year, I think our offense needs more teeth, so that means getting a C3 who can score. Leddy and Gostisbehere in one offseason would be enough to right the ship defensive, I have little doubt about that.
