Saw this trade on a vancouver fans post.. from the rangers perspective i think it's too good to be true.

Get the 10th overall pick and Tanev
Give up Pionk, probably 25-27, and post 50 pick?

Rangers would have a chance at:
Podkolzin if he falls as some project he will
Zegras, CB has him at 12
Krebs, CB has him at 11
Soderstrom, BM has him at 11
Arthur Kaliyev, BM has him at 133
Plus Ryan Suzuki, Caufield, etc.

does Tanev for 1 year help at RHD, Shatty/Pionk/Dangelo and maybe A. Fox arriving?

Tanev's injuries issues aside, you could get creative, and retain 50% of Tanev and send him to a needy RHD team (Leafs?) for a Def. B level prospect

that's what i was thinking.. If we could get a 2nd rounder for 50% retained on tanev (either this summer or at the deadline) it would still be a win as we'd essentially be moving up 15-20 picks for 2m in salary cap for one year and a deferred 2nd round pick.. seems like it's completely worth it
