Initial Creation Date: Apr. 16, 2019
Published: Apr. 16, 2019

Description
Updated Projected Salary Cap. This scenario will never ever happen but I like to dream. Only change would be the Marner Offer sheet if obviously (Will be) matched. Do the same for Laine.

Why are we giving Konecny away for a 3rd? This might be the worst trade in the history of CF AGM

A really bad salary dump probably to fit all the UFA's in.

You Think he is worth more?

Especially if for some reason Marner signs that offer sheet in this situation, maybe a back end Second rounder. Kid is awesome and I love him to death but his value isn't of a first rounder or even early second.

konecny for a third?? wtf? i understand if you wanna make room for a star, but 1. it's not wise to trade konecny as is, and 2. he's at least a 2nd and a prospect

Are you high?

What do you think he is worth then?

Still haven't added to this at all. TK Played at a Forward ranking of 123 this season per FlyersNerd https://public.tableau.com/profile/jon.falcone#!/vizhome/NHL18-19SeasonDaytoDayPlayerRankings/SeasonLongDefensemenRankings Highly suggest checking out this table.

Let me help you with some math...31 (teams) x 6 (top 6 forwards) = 186 forwards...but ya 123 is horrific!

Then What do you think his value is? I do agree maybe I underestimated what the market would give him in terms of picks back but I do not think that he is worth a 1st by any means. Only reason I cap dumped him in this was because of the difficulty it would be to trade Jakes contract or JVR after last season and their current contracts.

TK is for sure worth a 1st but he is worth more to the Flyers. 22, scores basically 25 goals a year, is super fast and has even more upside to come. You don't trade that for a big ? like a late 1st or and 2nd and beyond draft pick.

If this is the case, the Avs would happily take him for a 3rd, we'll even throw in a 5th in the 2020 draft.

I Do not disagree with that. But when your upgrade is Marner in this scenario. I will have no hard feelings moving on From TK. I needed to stay under the cap. Already moved gudas and there are not many more players on the flyers outside of jake and JVR that I would move. I do agree with Roux when he said 2nd and a prospect. I do not think a team would throw a mid to low first at the flyers at all. He still makes a ton of puck handling and passing mistakes (because he is young) and scored most of his goals while on the G Coots line. Or with Coots and JVR. The team trading with him to get similar production he would probably need similar linemates.

Well you are going to need to move about another $4 mil if you want Marner to even consider an offer-sheet because it will cost at min $12 mil.

Unfortunately Marner can sign that offer sheet all he wants, but Toronto matches this a million out of a million times. I think the number to even realistically think Toronto WON'T be able to match is somewhere around 13 mil

Oh, and Erik Karlsson isn't getting anything lower than 10 mil on the open market, your contract values are way too much on the low side, need to be more realistic.

This is correct but I wouldn't pay him a dime more due to his injury concerns and absolutely abysmal defensive play (in the playoffs anyways)

I wouldn't pay him that either, for the same reasons. If he would take 8.5 mil well then yeah sign me up, but he won't, so I don't like it. I think Alex Edler is an interesting name, a cheaper, vet option, who can play in all scenarios and knows AV's system. However again, due to this age, wouldn't go more than 3 years

That's what I based it on. If not the ideal signings for me is Tyler Myers and Going hard after Panarin (I think he will go to Florida)
