Description
Heard Adrian Dater (the most plugged in Avs reporter) making a lot of Panarin comments off hand today and got me excited. Apparently his agent was at the game last night (though he's also Varly's agent). Don't think they're the favorites by any means but don't think Dater would talk like that if he didn't think there's a real chance it happens

I like everything except the Francouz contract details. he has played 2 NHL games. i would only give him a 1 year deal at around $1-1.5M

Minor detail haha just as long as he's Grubi's backup I think that's the ideal goalie situation.

Its not so minor when youre over cap. Colorado has a lot of kids to lock up, dont waste money on other teams garbage

I think Francouz will cost less. At least on a 1 year prove it deal around 1m. He played well in his first year in the AHL but I'd wanna see what he can do for a whole season as an NHL back up before he gets that kind of money.

It would be fun to watch panarin and MacKinnon together but I think it would cause a lot of cap problems in the next few years with Landeskog and grubauer needing extensions. Not to mention MacKinnon shortly after. It would be sweet if we could just get him for 2 years at 11m per.

I meant Panarin, way to much money when Colorado has more than enough young talent in the pipeline

You’re probably right about Francouz but an extra million won’t make a big deal with the cap, plus they shouldn’t have unmanageable cap problems. Soderberg will walk after next year and you’ll have Bowers on an elc to replace him, then Cole leaves the year after that. If down the line you have to lose a Kerfoot or Compher oh well, that core would still be cup caliber and you still have multiple waves of young talent coming
