And like I said in the other thread there are about 5-10 players that would be worth it but would never be moved... this is one of them. CBJ declines. Maybe a 1-1 with marner and jones but even then they may not.

CBJ has no prospects to replace Jones with, I really don't think either team does this.

Probably but do the leafs win the trade? That is what matters, not whether it happens or if CBJ declines.

Yes it helps Toronto but Columbus doesn’t do it. Anderson and Jones would cost Marner+ and take the picks going to Toronto out.

We can trade marner for mcdavid larsson and Draisatl and win the trade.... what does it matter? You can trade our whole team away and win every trade... People do it on here every day,

Marner is Toronto's best player. Homegrown. Extremely dynamic offensively and defensively. One of, if not the smartest player in the league. Jones is a nice piece, so is Anderson, it would definitely spark my intrigue level but Marner is not going anywhere. Less than 0 interest in moving him from the Leafs. Pass.

This is not meant to be a slight of Marner. He’s awesome. Marner doesn’t get you a Seth Jones

I know the Leafs are never going to trade Marner, but the point of this was to see if this trade was fair. So is it?

It's probably pretty close. Not sure if Columbus would include Anderson in it, but Jones is definitely the starting point of any talks

And I don’t think Seth Jones gets you marner. Just two players who won’t be moved. I think when it comes to the leafs mathews marner and Rielly are the three players without an NMC that will not be traded. Everyone one else will be plastered in agm’s till we are under the cap this summer... and probably longer.

No, this trade is severely tilted to Toronto. Marner/Jones 1 for 1 is fair value... both teams decline. You have added a 30 goals scorer for Rosen and an echl goalie.
