Trade Plus Depth Scoring

Created by: Rooney
Team: 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Look, I have absolutely no clue what (if any) value Kris Russell has. I realize that MTL probably doesn't need or want to do this, but this trade could be made with ANY team. A late round pick is max value I am assuming EDM could get.

Gourde trade I think is close to fair value but let me know your thoughts.

First Call Ups:

FWD: Marody, Currie, Gambardella, Yamamoto

DEF: Jones, Welinski, Bear

GOA: Starrett

Basically, what I tried to do was clear a little bit of cap space and make cheap, secondary scoring signings and defensive depth.

Thoughts?

As a MTL fan, knowing we desperatly need LD, I hope we could work out something better than Kris Russell, however, I wouldn't say no to this deal. He still would be an upgrade on what we have on LD.

My thoughts exactly! I know MTL would prefer a much higher caliber LD, but since they have the cap space, I don't think it would be the worst move to gain more depth.

I still have a hard time believing we get anything back in a Kris Russell trade, I hope I'm wrong on that account but just a feeling I have.

I think Pirri will have better offers than $1M for next season. He showed some great upside, tore up the AHL and was on pace for 45~ points in the NHL. I think he's a good target in the offseason but I don't feel like $1M gets it done.

Pretty good overall. Top 6 is improved, salary cap is slightly improved, a backup who probably ends up being the starter and opened the way for our defensive prospects to move into the NHL.
