If we could somehow land Ferland and keep Kadri I wonder if the media would stop with the "leafs are too soft" narrative? |Right now, even without Kadri in the line up, I think we're pretty close to equal in hits (if not ahead) with the Bruins in the series.. funny how the media can twist what's actually happening vs what sound bites they like to sell..

really, really like the idea of Ferland - he's seems like the kind of established player who the leafs hoped Grundstrum mighta turned into for us before we lost him in the Muzzin trade

also, really like how two fairly straight forward trades puts the leafs in compliance with the cap. I don't know if Nylander and Oz would get Hamilton, but that seems close to consensus on capfriendly for what it would take to get Pesce, and if not Pesce, then it'll very likely get a RHD from someone, maybe Spurgeon?? Love to find a way to land him with something similar to what you put together for Hamilton.

The zzz is harder to trade than Tavares.

1. He has zero value and will not even meet with Carolina. He will hop on a flight to Russia.

2. Babs and dubas both flew to Russia to personally recruit him and he was promised not to be traded and that they would set him up in Toronto with his wife and child.

Nylander for Hamilton is more than enough. Personally I think if you make a move for Hamilton then zaitsev is expendable. But he may be a better than Hamilton to pair with Rielly.

Yeah, true. I could see Ozz heading back to the KHL if they tried to trade him. Was Dubas in on recruiting him? Or was that Babs and Lou?

Also, I was just playing around with this concept because I like the idea of keeping Kadri and adding Ferland. But I couldn't get my maff to work... what am I doing wrong, I ask myself? Well, trying to do maff without my second coffee in the morning is as always a bad idea for me, and, then I realized marleau is hanging out with Horton on this agm. Sneaky...

No, Nylander for Hamilton isn’t even close. Especially if they won’t even do Pesce for Nylander straight up. Hamilton has 5 more goals than any other D man over the past 2 years. He is one of the best RHD in the league.

This is false... it’s your opinion and your entitled to it but He is certainly not in my opinion the best RHD in the league by a long shot. Usually stud Dmen aren’t passed around from team to team like a joint. Personally I think he is the 3rd best Rhd on canes and 4th when you include slavin. There were rumours earlier in the year that they might be in the market to move him. They do have a surplus of RHD.

Oh and it is the leafs that wouldn’t do pesce for nylander. Canes were trying to get a deal done when he was holding out. Leafs declined to move him.

Ferland is looking for a big payday, he is not signing for that term and money.
