I’m afraid it wouldn’t be that grate. Kovalchuk is about 4.5 years younger than Datsyuk. 2016-17 & 2017-18 the 2 years they played together in The KHL Kovalchuk had 78 & 63 points while Datsyuk had 34 & 35. In 2018-19 Datsyuk had 42pts in The KHL while Kovalchuk had 34 in the NHL.

Yeah he would get a little more than 10goals and around 30assists if he played a full season. But his leadership and defensive skills make him invaluable. He would go for 1x6.5.

It helps the team up front for sure.

But they need to improve their defense long term if they are going to return to the postseason

The Datsuyk rumors around midseason was his agent creating buzz to increase the value of his contract.

He is one of the most skilled puck handlers to ever play the game.

It wasn’t just the stick handling it was the creativity. He did stuff that amazed other NHL players, who pretty much have spent more time on the ice than asleep.

No thanks he can stay in Russia. He would be do nothing for our rebuild other than take away ice time from the kids.
