Seems more than fair to me.

I know McDavid will be the best player in the league for years to come, but I'd rather keep a full 1st line (Buchnevich-Zibanejad-Kakko) than have him. Edmonton has shown that McDavid can't carry a team to a cup on his own (even with the help of Draisaitl and Nuge)

Imagine getting him and signing panarin.... a 1st line of panarin McDavid and kreider... best line in hockey hands down. Then you have chytil kravtsov and strome for line 2 maybe. Then a line of Lias howden and namestnikov for 3rd and then lemieux fast and vesey/nieves for line 4. Seems like a legit forward group

That seems pretty one dimensional (Colorado). Your top line can only play so many minutes a game and I'd rather have multiple strong lines than one powerhouse

I mean, Colorado is moving on to the next round of the playoffs and beat a pretty damn good team in the process. As far as the rest of the lines goes I feel like it gives you some pretty good depth and role playing lines with the 4th line being a good agitating grinding line. The 3rd line being a skilled offensive line that can chip in some depth scoring and then the 2nd line is pretty skilled imo as well. You can add some guys here and there through free agency to balance it out. The rangers are a team that will spend up to the cap to put together a championship team unlike some of the other teams out there that dont pony up the dough. The only thing that I would be worried about is the defense but that is a whole other story.

I agree if you believe kakko is mark stone or taylor hall or the like keep that first line and the pick. if you just want a face to put on tv and make your fake team seem important get McDavid and make us sit through 3 or 4 more ranger penguins stadium series games so nbc can wet themselves. McDavid is awesome btw
