PENS FANS - PLEASE LISTEN

Description
Please STOP trading Letang

- Everyone please remember how great he was all year long until he got hurt in Philly game.
I mean he was playing at a top 2-3 D-man in the league level for 60 games, how does everyone forget this?

PLUS - if u think the dude was even close to 100% when he came back, he just wasnt. He was maybe at 75%
healthy and was still our best Dman. Did he F up, Yes. But just think how many mistakes our other D-men would
have made if they played close to the minutes Tanger did.

Schultzy is a good #2 pairing, playing around 17-18 min per but him being exposed to playing 25-27 min would be bad.
- Also, think how much worse our Defense would be with out him ?? Can u imagine JJ / Maatta playing 25 min per nite??
My god just say lottery winners and trade Sid too.

- PLUS THE MOST IMPORTANT
DO U SEE MARIO SIGNING OFF ON TRADING LETANG ??? If GMJR comes to him with that, Mario prob laughs and Says -
"Jimmy its time to Retire"

After hearing a lot about what management and coaching thinks of Letang, I wouldn't be surprised if they listened to offers. Heard they are all frustrated with how he plays and really gets under all of their skin. I'm not saying I want him traded or they will trade him, but it wouldn't hurt to see what he can bring in

Honestly I've never been a fan of a GM refusing to listen to offers. If there's a team willing to give up more than what you think a player is worth, then you take it. Plus, listening to offers is just that: listening to offers. Doesn't mean a guy will be traded and it never hurts to see what other GM's would be willing to give up for your player.

I'm not well-versed on the situation in the slightest, but Rutherford would be a fool to not listen to offers. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think anyone actually hates Letang or think he's garbage. Sports fans tend to be like that during the playoffs and have a rather short memory for what players contributed throughout an entire season. Especially after being ousted in the first round when they are used to making deep playoff runs they need someone to blame. The panic button is broken because Pens, Flames, and Lightning fans are hypothetically blowing up their whole roster. I've seen so many Calgary Armchair GMs ship out Gaudreau, Monahan, Backlund. because they failed to perform when it mattered most. Plus this is the website to let those frustrations out with wild trades.

Ya exactly. Doesn’t hurt to see what teams are willing to pay for a player, especially a high end player like Letang. If someone is willing to overpay, then you can pull the trigger if you think it benefits the team

100% agree with you mate. Letang tried to do too much cause if he doesn’t, no one else will. The third pairing can’t produce any offence, and Schultz can’t produce anchored with Jack Johnson. If pens want to help letang, get the dude some help on the back end. Such an embarrassment

I respect ur view and I also would listen to offers ... its just Mario isnt letting it happen.
There is a reason 58 is out there for 28-30 min per game - its bc he is 100 times better than any other Dman we have... 8 is great in D-end and 4 is great in Offensive zone but only Tanger is great in both.
Unless the offer is something crazy dumb like a #1 RHD replacement (who's younger), 1st & 2nd rd picks, and Top 10 forward prospect in NHL.... That is only way id think about it.

The only way Id even think of trading Tanger is for a #1-RHD replacement (whos younger- like a Dumba), 1st & 2nd Rd picks, and a top 10 forward prospect in NHL...... Even then I mite want more back
