Description

Jordie Benn walk out because he’s asking for more than 2M. Thompson walk out because of Girgensons & Poehling will be the 1st call up if a center get injured. Audette Lernout Shinkaruk Ouellet are the RFA Mtl aren’t resigning.

Lehkonen receive a bridge contract because we dont know if he’s gonna be a 20 goals scorer or 3rd line winger. He’s still gonna be RFA after this contract. Armia is sign long terms with a low cap hit. A good 3rd line winger and excellent on the PK. Kulak have been awesome all year. Playing with Weber or Petry, he did an excellent job. He can move from the 2nd pairing to the 3rd pairing easily. Weal have been the spark on the PP, 10 points in 16 games, quick and create space. Might sign for 2M, but 2 years maximum.

MTL draft Ville Heinola or Cam York, the one still available. If both gone, Caufield Harley are good players.

The trade : Mtl get a 4th liner who’s gonna replace Thompson. Good seize, if he cant keep up, Poehling will be call up. Scandella need a fresh start too, have been horrible in Buffalo, but was good in Minnesota. Might form a good pair with Petry, Scandella more stay at home defenseman, Petry more offensive. Same goes as Kulak ( offensive ) Juulsen ( stay at home ).

I’m confident with Charlie Lindgren as back up.

I completely agree with you. I feel like Poehling is NHL ready, but starting in laval might be a good idea.

Scandella...why not? And there is Olofsson i think can be a good surprise, just like Kulak did.
Girgensons...i prefer to give a chance to Poehling on the 3rd.

I would bring Benn back for 2 years ~$2.25M (if they can get him for that). He played really well down the stretch. He finished with 22 pts (3rd for MTL defenseman) +15, and over 100 hits and shot blocks. Pretty good numbers for a 3rd pairing D. He can also play left or right D, which makes him pretty valuable depth.

I remeber the last year off-season armchain-Gms sending Benn anywhere for nothing. The team that signs Benn for $2.75M for three year will quest for a cap dump to get rid of this contract in a year. $2M for a one year contract is the best Mtl can do.
