I'd somehow understand that LA trade if Brown was nothing but a cap dump...but he's a decent 50-point winger. They'll never accept that kind of offer.

While it would be easy to debate the specifics of the trades, the flow through cap hit model might work well for Detroit IF ownership os on board. They have bought a lot of real estate recently (aka - half of downtown detroit) and may not want to have millions dumped into future picks. But this would be a way to accelerate the rebuild.

Why would TBL swap Callahan for Green, as they are both expiring contracts? The swap would only save them 500k for 1 season, and they need WAY more than that to sign 8 players. So 500k for a 1st round pick isn't worth it. Now, if it was Daley with retention for Callahan and a 1st, you may have something there.

It wasn't. 2017-18 he scored 61 points, this year it was 51. He's still solid forward, although a tad overpaid one. They are not paying to get rid of him at this point.
