You are not getting Hirose while giving Lucic away.. Hirose was excellent throughout the stint with Red Wings and he is top-6 player next year or the year after.

neilson isn't bad hes just miscast hes a 3rd line center asked to play top 6 role and its really not just his role. He is a 35 pt player and a complete player. I dont have anything against lucic I watched him play his bet hockey here in boston but hes not good and neilson is just average but better

Yeah and takes on a more expensive Lucic in the process. Nielsen has 3 x 5.25 left on his deal, While Lucic has 4 x 6.0 left on his. So how does this benefit us. Hirose is going to be a stud probably going to be in the Nyquist/Tatar range no way we move him to move Nielsen for a larger longer contract in Lucic. Detroit's not helping out Edmonton period.
