I elaborate on many thing so gladly I would. Ekholm is on one of the best deals in the league. He is great defensively and started to be great offensively this season as well so his price is high, like really high. Maybe if you offered Max Domi plus they would somehow consider it but I realistically you have higher chance of getting PK back than Ekholm.

I see your point but he’s not untouchable. Domi plus would be a huge overpay. I’ve gotta think Poile will move one of his top four this offseason and I think that’s a pretty good return

The price for Ekholm would start with a 1st rd pick. Add in Drouin and a prospect like Juulsen and you have a 'pretty good return'. Like it or not this is the going rate for good contracts and more importantly, top 4 defencemen in the NHL.

The Preds will spend the summer desperately trying to find a taker for PK Subban, probably to no avail. I doubt they will want to risk blowing up the left side of their D as well. Subban has wrecked another team. There's a pattern here. He comes in and takes the team to great heights in his first season with his skills and then destroys the team with his "personality." He's Paul Coffey redux. Don't be surprised if he plays on 4 more teams in the next 8 years.

Somewhere this morning, Marc Bergevin is chortling over his coffee.

PK is not the reason they haven't won anything. Pekke Rinne has had one good playoff performance in the last half decade. That one good performance? They went to the cup final. Most inconsistent goalie of the last decade.

I dunno. He backstopped the club to 117 last year and 100 this year. He must be doing something right. And I can't fault him for losing a 3-2 game after nearly 50 shots. That said, I feel your pain. We expect our goalies to make up for the failings of the rest of the team and sometimes it just doesn't happen. (I have to admit to being shocked to discover he's almost 37. I knew he had been drafted in 2004, so I assumed he's just a year older than Carey Price. Nope. The good news is that Saros looks like he can carry a lot more of the load going forward.

Nashville has been overrated for years and now people are starting to wake up to it.
There star defense was brutal against Dallas.

Fabro makes one of Ellis or Subban expendable, I think they're both overrated, Subpar is selfish and terrible defensively and Ellis Island too small when the game gets rough.

Drouin, a 1st and Juulsen as has been suggested is way too much for Elkholm.
