Description
I know the Zucker deal is a steal for Calgary and that there would be more suitors in the offseason which would likely drive up the price but here's hoping. I also know it is debated about wether or not the pick was a 1st or 2nd. I heard it was a 2nd, some people have told me it was a 1st. If you know mention it in the comments. I don't care if you think Couturier is untouchable.

That's too high a price for you to pay to get rid of Neal or acquire Couturier.

You're not trading Gaudreau.

Zucker is 27 and on a longer contract than 31-year-old Frolik. Minnesota isn't interested, and I find it hard to believe that this was ever a credible rumor.

I heard it was frolik and 1st, but don’t know for sure... However, this trade for Zucker is a joke...so that actually makes me think it might be true. GM Paul Fenton has done very little to earn the trust of wild fans simply because he has been out-negotiationed on just about every move he has made, so...

It wasnt a rumour, the trade sheet made it all the way to the league offices. This was a legit trade that apparently got messed up by the league

Nice job
I like it all except Ferland. Been there, done that. I also don't know if we'd have to give such a high pick for Johnny, since he has term left at a good price.
You'd also been in cap hell the next year when Hall resigns.

Wow!! Well, Fenton dodged a bullet there. Zucker is a much better trade asset to move up in the draft or acquire another high pick. (Zucker plus their 2nd-round pick for the San Jose first Buffalo owns? @TanSor?)

Treliving was livid because he knew he got robbed of a fleecing of a trade

Our beat writer has hinted it was a 1st but he hasn't officially reported it. He's extremely reliable when it comes to info so I'd venture it was a 1st but since he never officially reported it, you can't be certain I suppose.

I wouldn't do it. By that time in the draft it's much more of a crap shoot so I'd hope we get SJS pick plus a decent prospect for Zucker

One person thinks it's an overpayment, the other thinks it's an underpayment, which one is it

I know I typed "and Rasmus Asplund" but that stupid auto-correct must have swallowed it. You're right, though; the second-round pick makes it unfair even with Asplund.

Philly would decline a top-6 forward, a top-4 defenseman, a solid bottom-6 forward and a solid first-round pick who looks like he'll make a top-6 forward? A team which missed the playoffs and needs a stronger defense? Wow. Couturier must be better than Matthews or Tavares.
