This is lipstick on a pig, not a retooling. A retooling would likely mean trading at least one (and maybe two) of Crosby, Malkin, Kessel and Letang. This is just staving off the inevitable and having them lose market value in the process.

This is a huge rebuild not a retool! You trade Malkin first off who is one of the best on the team and in the entire league! Also Kevin Hayes does not get 7,000,000 he gets more like 5 mil.

You need to totally rethink this and watch alot more hockey to get a better understanding of values and players.

They would not need to "pay" to move Gudbranson. Especially to Ottawa. Ottawa will be looking for deals for guys with term.

And there is no player coming from Dallas worth getting. Hintz, Janmark, Hanzal**, and Johns** barely gets you Maatta, if even.
